Marketing Intern

Job description:


SIREUS is a three-year long collaboration project between The Swedish American Chambers of Commerce (SACC-USA) and 12 Swedish universities. The main focus is on knowledge exchange in innovation, science, and entrepreneurship, as well as talent mobility for students and researchers between Sweden and the U.S. This project is carried out in close collaboration with the universities, the Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C. and the Swedish Institute.

We are seeking a Marketing Intern to help execute the SIREUS marketing plan, maintain an information-based website and aggressively pursue our social media presence. You should also be able to create and design digital and printed materials; write news releases, propose and execute social media campaigns/ activities and support online as well as in-person events.  

Project activities & objectives:

​​​​​​​
* Identify synergies between existing academic collaborations and the SACC-USA network of 19 Chambers  
* Develop collaborations between Swedish-American business and academia  
* Strengthen collaborations between Swedish and U.S. institutions of higher learning  
* Enhance bilateral collaborations related to research, innovation and entrepreneurship  
* Plan and execute seminars and events to promote Sweden as a destination for study, research and work 

Required Skills:

  • Enrolled or already graduated from one of SIREUS Member Universities within a relevant field of study (Communications, Marketing, Economics, Political Sciences, etc.)
  • Ability to create and maintain a content plan for the project 
  • Excellent communications skills for creating content and news-updates on social media platforms 
  • Website maintenance experience  
  • Graphic design, art direction, visual communication or similar   
  • Good English language skills  
  • Ability to work independently and in teams  
  • Passion for promoting Sweden and Swedish higher education in the U.S. 
  • Technical skills in Google Analytics, Canva, Adobe Creative Program and Microsoft Office 

Project Management Intern

Job description:

SIREUS is a three-year long collaboration project between The Swedish American Chambers of Commerce (SACC-USA) and 12 Swedish universities. The main focus is on knowledge exchange in innovation, science, and entrepreneurship, as well as talent mobility for students and researchers between Sweden and the U.S. This project is carried out in close collaboration with the universities, the Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C. and the Swedish Institute. 

We are seeking two new project management interns to continue implementing and developing this project. As a project management intern, you will work with the marketing and event intern, as well as closely collaborate with different stakeholders. As a project management intern, your job includes developing the communication of the project, optimizing internal channels, and finding new ways to further develop the project and new project focuses for the future. Everyday tasks of the role include but are not limited to; mapping of existing collaborations between Swedish and American universities and businesses, participate in collaborative updates for stakeholders, and identifying new opportunities to strengthen the talent mobility and knowledge exchange between Sweden and the U.S. We are seeking two people who are driven and good at taking own initiatives and responsibilities.

  • Interest in forging collaborations and partnerships 
  • Ability to work independently and in teams 
  • Outgoing personality and comfortable with expressing your own ideas 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish and English 
  • Passion for promoting Sweden and Swedish higher education in the U.S. 

Event Intern

Job Description:

SIREUS is a three-year long collaboration project between The Swedish American Chambers of Commerce (SACC-USA) and 12 Swedish universities. The main focus is on knowledge exchange in innovation, science, and entrepreneurship, as well as talent mobility for students and researchers between Sweden and the U.S. This project is carried out in close collaboration with the universities, the Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C. and the Swedish Institute.

We are seeking an event intern to help organize and execute SIREUS forum events, both physical and digital. As an event intern, you will be working closely with the marketing intern to continuously promote the concept of SIREUS forum. You will be responsible for initiating, planning, and executing different events taking place in-person as well as virtually. Other tasks include contacting and attracting sponsors suitable for the different events. The role further involves collaborating with SACC-USA's regional chambers, university representatives, and different stakeholders within the SIREUS project. We are seeking someone who can take their own initiative and responsibilities to further develop the SIREUS concept and events in the future.

  • Develop collaborations between Swedish-American business and academia 
  • Strengthen collaborations between Swedish and U.S. institutions of higher learning 
  • Enhance bilateral collaborations related to research, innovation and entrepreneurship

  • Good problem-solving skills  
  • Structured and stress-resistant 
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Office and Canva 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish and English 
  • Ability to work independently and in teams  
  • Passion for promoting Sweden and Swedish higher education in the U.S. 
  • Related work or extracurricular activities
