A Window to Sweden in the Capital City of America

The House of Sweden is located on the Potomac riverbank in the picturesque neighboorhood of Georgetown. It stands as a unique meeting point in the United States for promoting Swedish and American interests. The beautiful building hosts the Swedish and Icelandic Embassies as well as a plethora of companies and exhibitions. A hotspot for interesting people and events, this house truly is the perfect workplace for a project like SIREUS that aims to connect Swedish and American academia, researchers and entrepreneurs.

Did you know...

That the House of Sweden was designed by famous Swedish architects Gert Wingårdh and Thomas Hansen? The building stands as a representation for Swedish values, its open nature reflects the openness and transparency of Swedish diplomacy and politics.

House of Sweden stands as a stunning tribute to the beautiful Swedish nature; exemplified by its blonde wood, stone and glass structure that exudes light. The light and airy feel of the building is meant to represent the luminous Swedish summers.

In 2007, the House of Sweden also won the prestigious Kasper Salin Prize for best building.
