Dr. Maria Brogren is Counselor for science, innovation and higher education at the Embassy of Sweden to the United States and heads Sweden's Office of Science and Innovation (OSI) in Washington, DC. OSI's mission is to promote strategic collaboration between Sweden and the U.S. on research, innovation, and higher education. Main focus areas are digitalization, life sciences, and green transition. Dr. Brogren is a science and technology policy generalist with a background in the fields of innovation management, energy technologies and systems, climate and energy issues related to the construction sector, and sustainability. She holds an M.Sc. in Engineering Physics with specialization in Energy technology and a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics with specialization in Solid State Physics from Uppsala University, Sweden.
